What is covered in The Christman Company’s IT Hourly Billing Rate?
There is a lot more that goes into providing and supporting Information Technology for project staff than just providing a computer, a phone, and a printer. The real cost is in the backend systems that we sometimes call our own “Christman Cloud.”
The IT charge added to the hourly rate can include the following for each field staff person and project:
In a quick and easy nutshell the cost covers:
- PC and/or iPad
- Monitors, docking station, and accessories.
- PC licensing (Windows OS, MS Office, BlueBeam)
- IP Phone
It also helps cover a portion of the cost for:
- Basic Project Site networking equipment.
- Christman Cloud Licensing (Procore, Vista, MS Office, MS Project, BlueBeam, GoToMeeting)
- Backend server systems / Christman Cloud Hardware
- IT Hardware and Software support
Some examples of things it does NOT cover that may incur additional cost:
- Monthly Internet Service, including AirCards. Costs vary. Estimate around $100/mo.
- Initial IT project site setup. The project will be billed for any IT time and travel charges for initial project site setup and for any addition or major changes. Costs vary by size of project.
- Project site TVs/projectors, Apple TV devices, etc. Cost vary. Estimate about $1000 one time.
- Project site printers and/or full service copy machines. Costs vary.
- Extra IP Phones such as conference room phones. Add $300/year/each.
- Expanded WiFi equipment if needed outside the confines of the project site office. Costs vary. Estimate $200 - $1000 (one time) depending on size of site and desired coverage.
- Special software or licenses needed to be purchased/used. Costs vary.
- Project site webcam(s) and service. Costs vary.
