Can I use my Christman password for other services?

The quick answer is "no", please do not!

You should not provide your credentials to anyone outside of IT for any reason without first contacting the Information Technology department. You should not reuse your Christman supplied password for any non-Christman purpose or system. For example, if you are being setup on a 3rd party system that a customer is requiring that we use and you are asked to provide a preferred password, please do not supply your Christman password, make up a new one of your choice. Anyone with access to your account credentials can more easily compromise the account. This includes email, all files you have access to, private news listings; thus Christman’s intellectual property.

We work hard to try to protect our systems (through email security software, endpoint protection/antivirus, etc), but that means nothing if you use your password somewhere else and they get compromised, leaking your Christman credentials to malicious parties!
