My computer won't turn off

If your computer is locked up and won't shut down you can force it to shut down by pressing (and holding) the power button down for about 5 seconds. If you have to do this a lot please put in a ticket so we can troubleshoot the root cause. 

Note - you should only do this if the PC is not responding.  

Never do this if it is installing updates, even if it is taking FOREVER.  If your laptop is installing updates at the end of a meeting and you need to leave, shut the lid, then at your earliest convenience connect your laptop to a power cord and open the lid back up.  If the power LED is blinking you may have to power it back up (and even logon) to let it finish the updates.  If it truly never finishes updating then put in a ticket.
