How do I get a new Team created?

The IT Department will need to assist you.  Please put in a Help Desk Ticket.

The IT Department will consult with you on what will work best for you.  Maybe you don't need a full team, maybe you only need a Channel under an existing team.  A Team is really nothing more than a collection of Channels.    Maybe you can get by with a "Mini Team."  We are here to help figure this all out.  

Some things to think about when creating a Team or Channel.  

• First – make sure an entire new team is necessary.
  • Can it be a channel under an existing team (either public or private)?
  • Can you just use the Chat functionality for a “mini team”?
  • If you don’t want/need multiple channels then an entire team may not be needed unless there are other special needs.
• If it needs to be an brand new Team or Private Channel, who will be the owner(s)?
  
  • Owners can invite members and guest members.
  • Members can request Christman staff be added – but must be approved by an owner. 
• The following Member and Guest Permissions are configurable (Yes/No):
  • Allow members to create and update channels?
  • Allow members to create private channels?
  • Allow members to delete and restore channels?
  • Allow members to add and remove apps?
  • Allow members to upload custom apps?
  • Allow members to create, update, and remove tabs?
  • Allow members to create, update, and remove connectors?
  • Owners can delete all messages?
  • Give members the option to delete their messages?
  • Give members the option to edit their messages?
  • Guest Permissions
    • Allow guests to create and update channels?
    • Allow guests to delete channels?
  • Tag management (Owners only, or include members?)
  • Do we need to create a Team Link for auto-join? 
• Configure General Channel (and other channel) Settings
  
  • Who can post Messages?  (Anyone or only Owners)
  • Do we use General Channel as just an info screen?
    • Create a welcome post
    • Do we want to disable / restrict file access in the General Channel?
