I can't log onto Vista / Viewpoint

Issue #1 - You got an error similar to "Unable to ping server".  If you have Vista/Viewpoint installed locally on a laptop and you are trying to access it from an outside network (such as your home), that will NOT work.  If this is the case you should get into Virtual Desktop and access it from there.  If you are in Virtual Desktop and/or in a regional office then it may be a global issue.  Check this article: Is There an Outage?

Issue #2 - If you can't get past the logon screen and the "Vista Server" address is blank or something besides "viewpoint" or "viewpoint.christman.local" you need to fill in that field.  Simply enter in "viewpoint" and press the OK (Check mark).  See image below

You also need to provide your Christman username and password.  Vista does not use the Windows password and may be different if you didn't synchronize them the last time you changed your Windows password.  Try using an older password and see if that works (If that does work, consider changing your Vista password to match your Windows password. )

If you tick the Save Password check-box you will not have to provide your credentials every time you use Vista.
