Forward Calls to your Cell Phone

If you have a desk IP Phone you can forward calls to your cell phone by putting it into Away Status. 

Note - Your cell phone number must have already been setup in the phone system.  After you put your phone into Away status, make sure you TEST it by making a test call.  If your cell phone number is not setup in the system you will need to put in a Help Desk ticket for assistance.  

Put your IP Phone into Away Status

  • From your phone, pick up the handset and dial *31 before you leave. (If using speakerphone, you must press the Send button) You should hear it say: "Away Status Set"
  • If you don't have physical access to your phone you can:
    • Ask a peer, or someone with physical access to your phone, to dial *31 for you.
    • Ask IT to put your phone into Away Status.
    • Call into the Voicemail System to set it remotely
      • Call 888-256-3710 
        • Enter your Extension number and PIN when prompted. 
        • Select: 9 - Options
        • Select: 1 - Change your Profile Status 
        • Select: 2 - Away Status 

Make a Test Call

  • You can simply dial your 4-digit extension number from your own IP Phone, or any other phone that is not your cell phone. 
  • If your cell phone rings then you are good to go! 
  • If your cell phone does not ring and/or you get your IP Phone voicemail then you will need to ask IT to setup your ability to forward your calls to your cell via a Help Desk ticket. 

Put your IP Phone back into normal (Available Status)

  • From your phone, pick up the handset and dial *30 when you return. (If using speakerphone, you must press the Send button) You should hear it say: "Available Status Set"
  • If you don't have physical access to your phone you can:
    • Ask a peer, or someone with physical access to your phone, to dial *30 for you.
    • Ask IT to put your phone back into Available Status
    • Call into the Voicemail System to set it remotely
      • Call 888-256-3710 
        • Enter your Extension number and PIN when prompted. 
        • Select: 9 - Options
        • Select: 1 - Change your Profile Status 
        • Select: 1 - Available Status
