Forward Calls to your Cell Phone (using WebClient)
The following instructions are for use with the 3CX WebClient which you can access here: https://christman.my3cx.us/webclient
First off - Log on with your extension number and WebClient password. Note - this password is not your Christman account password. If you do not know your phone system password you will have to put in a Help Desk ticket asking us to send you the "Phone system welcome email."
Forwarding your Calls
Provided your extension is configured correctly and your cell number is already setup in the system, all you need to do is set your extension to "Away"
- In the upper right simply click where it says "Available" next to your profile icon.
- Change "Available" to "Away"
- That's it!
- When you no longer want it forwarded, change it back to "Available"
You can also set your IP Phone into away mode simply by dialing *31. View this article for more info.
Advanced Configuration / Call Forwarding Control.
If your cell number is not configured or it just isn't working as expected, you can change the settings yourself. You can also forward to an alternate number of your choice here.
- Once logged on, click on SETTINGS in the menu.
- Then click "Call Forwarding" and then "Away"
- From here you can control how your phone forwards your calls. You can select different options for Internal Calls and External Calls.
- For example, to forward Internal calls to your cell phone, change the drop-down box to "My Mobile" under the Forward Internal Calls To section.
- If you want External calls to go direct to voicemail, you can change the drop-down box to Voicemail under the Forward External Calls To section.
- If you want all calls to go to your cell, set both to "My Mobile"
- If you want to forward calls to an alternate number set the drop-down box to "External Number" and provide a 10-digit phone number.
- REMEMBER - in order for this to work, your extension must be in "Away" mode as describe above.
- You can also configure different options for various other statuses like, Do Not Disturb, Away-2, etc. You can even rename them. For example, you could change the Away-2 to Vacation. This is mainly for your reference.
Using: Rebound
When forwarding calls to another number, if you check the REBOUND option you can screen your calls. It will read off the caller-ID and then give you the option to take the call (press 1) or send to voicemail (press #). This really isn't super useful if your phone already displays the caller ID; however it may help you differentiate between direct dialed calls and calls forwarded from your IP Phone.
Using: Out of Office hours Voicemail
If you check this box when forwarding calls, your calls will no longer forward to your cell outside of business hours.
Setting your Cell Phone Number
