I Lost My Drives!
Your network drive mappings (P: S: H:, etc.) only get established when you log onto your computer after a fresh boot-up AND the computer can see our corporate network servers.
The Quick Fix
- If you don't have your drives and you are in a regional office, simply log-out completely (or reboot) and then login fresh. This should re-map your drives.
- If you're not in a regional office, you need to log into the VPN during logon for your drives to map. Click here for instructions.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- If you just booted up your computer and logged on before it connected to the Internet, you may not have your drives.
- Similarly, If your WiFi is not connected when you log on you will not get your drives mapped.
- If your PC wakes from sleep mode, it does NOT "remap" the drives, but if the drives were initially mapped, they should be there.
- If you are not in a regional office when you first logon, you will NOT get your drives mapped (unless you first connect to the VPN.)
- If you logon while not in a regional office and not on the VPN, you will not get your drives mapped. If you then put your laptop to sleep (by closing the lid for example), and then you wake it up while in a regional office, you will still not have your drive mappings. You will need to log-out completely (or reboot) and then login fresh; then your drives will map.
- In order to have your drives when using the VPN, you must start the VPN during logon. Click here for instructions.
