Why did an email get quarantined?
You may occasionally wonder why some emails get quarantined and some don't. Why you may have been receiving email from somebody for months or years and now all of a sudden one wound up in the Quarantine.
It all comes down to content! CheckPoint Harmony looks at many factors in the email to determine the context of an email. Even though you have received emails from the sender in the past, there are a number of clues that could indicate that their email account has been compromised and is sending out phishing emails.
When CheckPoint quarantines an email, it is highly unlikely that it's legitimate. Having said that, it is not possible to be correct 100% of the time, and every now and then we're asked to review an email that does in fact look legitimate.
If you receive an email that you'd like us to review, you can click the Request to release link in the Action column.
Clicking that will notify our IT admins of your request, and also puts in a helpdesk ticket on your behalf. We'll review the email and either release it or decline the request based on its content.
