How do I check my Spam Folder?
The CheckPoint Harmony system will do two things to potentially unwanted emails sent to you:
- If the email is considered phishing or malware, it will quarantine the email and it will NOT be delivered to your mailbox.
- If the email is considered to be spam (which—while annoying—is often harmless) the email will be delivered to the Junk E-mail folder in Outlook.
3 times per day (at 7am, 11am, and 4pm) the CheckPoint system will send you a summary digest of the emails that were either quarantined or considered spam. This email will only show the items quarantined or filtered to Junk since the last summary email. This is a departure from the Barracuda system, where every summary email showed all of the emails that were in your Quarantine Inbox on the Barracuda. Emails in your Junk E-mail folder older than 30 days will be deleted automatically.
Since spam emails are delivered to the Junk E-mail folder in your Outlook, you can look at this folder at any time, even on your mobile device. If there's an email you were expecting that you're not seeing, check your Junk E-mail folder to see if it's there—you don't have to wait until the next CheckPoint summary email.
As previously mentioned, items that are considered potentially malicious (such as phishing emails) will not get delivered to you at all. Instead, the summary email will tell you if an item has been quarantined, and include a link to request an IT admin to review it and deliver it if is a false positive.
