My Computer is Frozen / Locked-up

If your computer is not responding here are some things to check / try. 
If you don't have any unsaved work, you can try these things without too much worry.  If you do have some unsaved work and you are afraid of loosing it; it may be better to start with a helpdesk ticket.  

  • Does the mouse pointer move around?
    • If it does not, your computer may be hard-locked and basically need to be rebooted.  
      • Hold down CTRL & ALT then press the DELETE button.  Anything?

      • If the article above doesn't work - put in a helpdesk ticket.  Tell us what you tried.
    • If the mouse pointer does move around:
      • Are you in Virtual Desktop? Yes?
        • Can you access the top tool bar?  If so, try disconnecting and reconnecting.
          • If you reconnect but it is still locked up, put in a helpdesk ticket.  Tell us what you tried. 
        • If you cant access the top tool bar - Hold down CTRL & ALT then press the DELETE button.  Anything?  
      • If you are not in Virtual Desktop try this:
        • Hold down CTRL & ALT then press the DELETE button.  Anything?  
        • If not - Read this: My Computer Won't Turn-off
        • If you get a menu when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL, try the Task Manager option. If you see any "not responding" applications, try to right-click and terminate it.  
  • It could even be that your mouse and/or keyboard has quick working.
